Andrew and Kathy have been best friends for over twenty years. Their friendship has spanned the same 8th-grade homeroom, a senior project to New Orleans (via train) where Andrew did most of the heavy lifting, a summer internship in Washington D.C. where they shared a room, and Kathy joined Andrew's fraternity for the summer, and eventually life in different cities and time zones. And yes, their friendship has had many times when the other had unrequited romantic feelings (mostly Kathy, tbh).

Kathy and Andrew remained great friends even when Andrew decided to move to San Francisco in 2017. They regularly talked on the phone and Facetimed, keeping each other in the loop as their lives took off in different directions. Kathy has been the first person to wish Andrew a "happy birthday" since they were 18 years old, and that tradition continued to their 32nd birthday. During this call, the timing seemed right to broach the topic of talking more often than quarterly. From there, over the next two years, the most inevitable and illogical long-distance relationship began.

Their wedding weekend will be a tribute to a relationship with true friendship as the foundation and a celebration of love 20 years in the making.
